The SSME Flexible Pipeline Buoyancy Ring is a specialized marine fitting designed to provide buoyancy support for underwater pipelines. It adopts a flexible, corrosion-resistant structure, adapting to different pipeline diameters and underwater environments. It prevents pipeline sinking, reduces stress on pipeline joints, and protects pipelines from seabed obstacles (e.g., rocks, sand dunes). It is widely used in marine engineering, offshore oil & gas, and ship pipeline systems, ensuring stable operation of underwater pipelines.
• Flexible adaptation: Compatible with pipeline diameters from 50mm to 500mm, no need for customized sizes for different pipelines.
• Strong buoyancy: Provides 50-500N of buoyancy per unit (model-dependent), supporting pipelines of various weights.
• Corrosion resistance: Made of marine-grade polyurethane (PU) material, resistant to salt water, algae, and marine organisms, with a service life of ≥8 years.
• Buoyancy stability: Maintains 95% of initial buoyancy after 5 years of underwater use, no buoyancy loss due to water absorption.
• Load-bearing capacity: Withstands a maximum pressure of 0.5MPa (equivalent to 50m water depth), suitable for shallow and medium-depth marine environments.
• Temperature adaptability: Operates in -20℃ to 60℃, adapting to cold seas (e.g., North Sea) and warm seas (e.g., Southeast Asia).
• Lightweight: 0.8-5kg per unit (diameter-dependent), easy to transport and install by divers.
• Flexible structure: Can be bent by 30° without damage, adapting to pipeline bending and seabed terrain changes.
• Easy installation: Equipped with adjustable straps and buckles, allowing divers to install or remove it in 10-15 minutes per unit.
In offshore oil & gas fields, underwater pipelines (for oil/gas transportation) are often laid across seabeds with uneven terrain. The buoyancy ring provides upward support, preventing pipelines from sinking into soft seabeds (e.g., mud) and reducing the risk of pipeline rupture at joints. It also keeps pipelines at a safe distance from seabed rocks, avoiding physical damage.
On large ships (e.g., oil tankers, cruise ships), underwater pipelines (for ballast water, fuel oil) need buoyancy support to avoid sagging in the ship’s bilge or underwater compartments. The buoyancy ring ensures pipelines remain in the designed position, reducing friction with other equipment and extending pipeline life.
Parameter | Value |
Compatible Pipeline Diameter | 50mm-500mm |
Buoyancy Range | 50-500N per unit |
Service Life | ≥8 years (underwater) |
Operating Temperature | -20℃ to 60℃ |
Maximum Working Depth | 50m (0.5MPa) |
Material | Marine-grade polyurethane (PU) |
Weight | 0.8-5kg per unit |
Color | Orange (high visibility) / Blue (customizable) |
• Visibility: Orange color (default) ensures easy detection by divers during inspection or maintenance.
• Anti-marine growth: The PU surface is smooth, preventing algae or barnacle attachment, which could increase weight and reduce buoyancy.
• Impact resistance: Can withstand collisions with small seabed rocks (impact force ≤100N) without cracking or buoyancy loss.
