Singapore, March 25, 2025 - Safe Sail Marine Equipment Sdn Bhd (SSME), a leading maritime technology innovator, made a significant splash at the 19th Singapore Maritime Week (SMW 2025), held from March 24–28 at Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre. The company highlighted its latest advancements in inertial navigation systems (INS) and marine oil-water separators, positioning itself as a key player in the industry’s digitalization and decarbonization efforts.
At the Expo@SMW, SSME’s booth drew attention with its dual-antenna GNSS-aided INS, designed to deliver centimeter-level precision even in GNSS-denied environments such as port zones or polar regions. The system integrates real-time data from onboard sensors and AI-driven algorithms to ensure seamless navigation for autonomous vessels, offshore platforms, and research ships. “Our INS eliminates reliance on external signals, offering unmatched reliability for critical operations,” stated SSME’s CTO during the launch. “It’s a game-changer for safety and efficiency in high-risk maritime scenarios.”
Equally notable was SSME’s next-generation oil-water separator, engineered to meet IMO MEPC 107(49) standards with effluent oil content ≤15 ppm. The system employs vacuum suction and membrane filtration technologies to tackle emulsified oil, a common challenge in shipboard wastewater treatment. By recycling up to 90% of processed water and reducing sludge volume, the separator aligns with global decarbonization goals while minimizing operational costs.
SMW 2025, themed “Actions Meet Ambition,” emphasized digital transformation and sustainable practices. SSME’s innovations resonated with these priorities, as attendees explored how advanced technologies can drive the maritime sector toward net-zero emissions. The company also engaged in discussions on integrating its solutions with Singapore’s newly launched maritime digital twin, a real-time simulation platform for optimizing port operations and environmental monitoring.
With over 20,000 participants from 80 countries, SMW 2025 provided SSME a global stage to forge partnerships and showcase its commitment to shaping the future of maritime technology.
